When you use Live Job Chat Products, you may provide J-IM, Live Job Chat and employers using our service with personally identifiable information (your "J-IM information"). This Policy does not apply to information collected by third party Web sites linked to or otherwise accessible from offerings presented through J-IM Products and by Live Job Chat. Collection of Your J-IM Information
Your J-IM information may consist of personally identifiable information collected or received about you when you answer pre-screening forms to log in to J-IM as a user and interact with J-IM or any Live Job Chat Products. Depending on how you use J-IM Products, your J-IM information may include registration-related information (such as name, home or work addresses, e-mail addresses, telephone and fax numbers, birth date or gender).

Your J-IM information may also include certain technical information gathered by J-IM and Live Job Chat when you use J-IM Products. Some of the technical information that may be collected or received includes: the type of browser you are using (e.g., Netscape, Internet Explorer), the type of operating system you are using (e.g., Windows XP or Mac OS), CPU type (e.g. Pentium), your manner of connecting to the Internet (e.g, connection speed through narrowband or broadband access); Internet protocol address; other information about your geographic location; and the domain name of your Internet service provider.

When you use J-IM Products, your J-IM information may be collected and stored in the United States by Live Job Chat as the operator of J-IM.
All instant messages conducted between you and employers utilizing the J-IM service are stored and available to the employer and Live Job Chat. Live Job Chat will use the data for purposes of quality control.

How Your J-IM Information Is Used
Your J-IM information is used to operate and improve the features, offerings and content presented to you by J-IM and Live Job Chat; to personalize the content and advertisements provided to you; to fulfill your requests for products, programs, and services; to communicate with you and respond to your inquiries; to conduct research about your use of J-IM and Live Job Chat Products; and to help offer you other products, programs, or services that may be of interest.

Your J-IM information may be shared within Live Job Chat and its business divisions. Your J-IM information will not be shared with third parties (other than the original employer with whom you conducted a Job Instant Messaging Session) unless it is necessary to fulfill a transaction you have requested, or in other circumstances in which you have consented to the sharing of your J-IM information. J-IM or Live Job Chat may use your J-IM information to present offers to you on behalf of business partners and advertisers. These business partners and advertisers receive aggregate data about groups of J-IM users, but do not receive information that personally identifies you.

Live Job Chat may read your private online communication with employers when you use any of the communication tools offered as Live Job Chat Products. Other than the original employer, Live Job Chat does not release this information to any third parties. If, however, you use Live Job Chat tools to disclose information about yourself publicly (for example, in chat rooms or online message boards made available by Live Job Chat), other online users may obtain access to any information you provide.

Your J-IM information, including the contents of your online communications, may be accessed and disclosed in response to legal process (for example, a court order, search warrant or subpoena), or in other circumstances in which Live Job Chat has a good faith belief that J-IM or Live Chat are being used for unlawful purposes. Live Job Chat may also access or disclose your J-IM information when necessary to protect the rights or property of J-IM or Live Job Chat, or in special cases such as a threat to your safety or that of others.

Live Job Chat may use agents and contractors in order to help operate J-IM Products. If such agents and contractors have access to personally identifiable information, they are required to protect this information in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy by, for example, not using the information for any purpose other than to carry out the services they are performing for Live Job Chat.

In the unlikely event that ownership of J-IM was to change as a result of a merger or acquisition by another company, your J-IM information may be transferred. Live Job Chat will provide you notice prior to any such transfer of your J-IM information. If such a transfer results in a material change in the use of your J-IM information, Live Job Chat will also provide you notice about the choices you have to decline to permit such a transfer.

Cookies and Web Beacons
J-IM may use cookies to authenticate your sesson on J-IM or Live Job Chat, including to operate and improve offerings through J-IM; to help authenticate your identity when you visit and transact with J-IM or Live Job Chat; to remember your preferences and registration information; enable a shopping cart; to present and help measure and research the effectiveness of J-IM offerings, advertisements, and e-mail communications (by determining which J-IM e-mails you open and act upon); and to customize the content and advertisements provide to you by J-IM or Live Job Chat.

J-IM and its advertisers may also use ad network providers, including Live Job Chat subsidiaries, to help present advertisements on Live Job Chat and other Web sites. These ad network providers may use cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies on your computer to help present, better target, and measure the effectiveness of their advertisements using data gathered over time and across their networks of Web pages to determine or predict the characteristics and preferences of their audience. Live Job Chat may share certain non-personally identifiable information about you as a J-IM registered user (such as age or zip code) with certain ad network providers to help them deliver more relevant advertisements through their ad networks. The use of cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies by network providers is subject to their own privacy policies, not J-IM's or Live Job Chat’s.

Our Commitment to Security
Live Job Chat has established safeguards to help prevent unauthorized access to or misuse of your J-IM information, but cannot guarantee that your personally identifiable information will never be disclosed in a manner inconsistent with this Privacy Policy (for example, in the event of unauthorized acts by third parties that violate applicable law or the policies of J-IM or Live Job Chat. To protect your privacy and security, Live Job Chat uses passwords to help verify employer and other adertister’s identity before granting access or making corrections to any of your J-IM information.

Special Note for Parents
J-IM is intended for a general audience, and children under the age of thirteen are not permitted to use J-IM or any Live Job Chat services.
